Role summary
IQVIA seeks a Senior Medical Director in Hematology/Oncology to provide clinical and scientific oversight of global trial programs from a home-based U.S. or Canada location. The role involves medical monitoring, protocol guidance, safety assessment, and data review while serving as the primary medical interface between the company, sponsors, and investigative sites. Qualified candidates hold an MD, 5+ years of oncology/hematology clinical experience, and ≥3 years of clinical research background.
What they're looking for
- MD from accredited, internationally recognized medical school
- 5–7+ years clinical experience as licensed physician in oncology, hematology, surgical oncology, or urology with oncologic focus
- Board certification or eligibility in relevant therapeutic area strongly preferred
- 3+ years clinical research experience as study physician, investigator, or in pharma/CRO/biotech
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary global teams
- Strong organizational skills managing complex projects with shifting timelines
- Excellent communication translating complex medical concepts into actionable insights
What you'll be doing
- Provide medical oversight and scientific input across global clinical research programs as primary medical interface
- Review protocols, safety data, adverse events, and critical clinical data ensuring compliance and patient safety
- Train study teams and investigators on protocol and therapeutic area; support site selection and patient recruitment
- Develop and oversee medical monitoring plans; serve as primary medical resource for study sites
- Review clinical data including eCRFs and contribute to clinical study reports and regulatory submissions
