Role summary
Medtronic seeks a Senior Director to lead global sourcing strategy for maintenance, repair, operations, and capital equipment across 60 manufacturing sites worldwide. This role oversees a 20-person sourcing team managing over $700 million in annual spend and drives cost optimization, supplier performance, and enterprise value creation initiatives.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree with 15+ years sourcing, supply chain, or manufacturing experience; 10+ years managerial experience
- Advanced degree with 13+ years equivalent sourcing or supply chain experience
- Demonstrated success leading supplier negotiations, commercial strategy, and contract management
- Experience delivering large-scale sourcing or operational improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams
- Deep MRO category management experience including industrial supplies, spare parts, tooling, and calibration
- Capital equipment category experience managing manufacturing, laboratory, and facility equipment sourcing
- Knowledge of sourcing in regulated industries, preferably FDA-regulated environments
What you'll be doing
- Lead global sourcing strategies for MRO, Capital Equipment, and Manufacturing Services across 60 manufacturing sites
- Develop category strategies improving total cost of ownership, supplier performance, and commercial terms
- Direct supplier negotiations, contract strategies, business reviews, and preferred supplier programs
- Lead cross-functional transformation initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency and spend optimization
- Build and develop a geographically dispersed global sourcing team through coaching and performance management
