Role summary
Senior Director leading AI/ML and data science strategy, team, and operations within a pharmaceutical development organization. Accountable for establishing methodological standards, building high-performing teams, and translating complex datasets into actionable insights for drug-development decisions.

- Significant experience leading AI/ML solutions in clinical, pharmaceutical, or life-sciences settings in regulated environments
- Demonstrated experience building and managing teams including managers, setting strategy, managing budgets
- Advanced expertise in AI/ML methodology, statistical approaches, NLP, and Generative-AI with strong judgment on rigor standards
- Working fluency in Python, R, and SQL with understanding of modern data platforms (Databricks, AWS), MLOps, Git, and reproducible architectures
- Deep knowledge of clinical development, regulatory requirements (ICH, GxP), and AI governance in regulated settings
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences; strong people leadership and mentorship capability
What you'll be doing
- Define and drive multi-year AI/ML and data science strategy, roadmap, and operating model aligned with portfolio priorities
- Lead multidisciplinary team including managers and senior contributors; set goals, allocate resources, manage performance and talent development
- Establish standards for model development, validation, interpretability, and responsible AI use in regulated environments
- Guide design and deployment of analytics products, LLM-based workflows, and decision dashboards from prototype to production
- Oversee data platform, pipeline, reproducibility strategy, and MLOps/LLMOps standards on Databricks and cloud infrastructure
