Zifo seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate data infrastructure for a clinical trial design platform. Graph database expertise (Neptune, Neo4j) with SPARQL or Cypher proficiency
AWS services experience: Aurora, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS/SNS for pipeline orchestration
Clinical text NER, PDF extraction, embedding models, and vector store implementation
FastAPI backend development with asynchronous programming patterns
Workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Step Functions, Temporal)
Understanding of clinical trial structure and regulatory data integrity requirements

What you'll be doing

Design and build ingestion pipelines for clinical protocols, regulatory documents, and published articles
Develop data models in Aurora and GraphDB representing trial design entities and relationships
Build embedding and vectorization pipelines for RAG-based retrieval in agentic AI workflows
Implement ETL/ELT workflows transforming unstructured clinical content into queryable linked data
Build data-serving APIs exposing curated datasets to frontend and agent layers
