Role summary
AbbVie seeks a senior outsourced manufacturing manager to oversee contractor relationships and performance across multiple pharmaceutical production partners. The role combines strategic oversight with operational execution, ensuring supply continuity, regulatory compliance, quality standards, and cost competitiveness for externally manufactured products.
What they're looking for
- Master's degree (Bac+5) in scientific or technical field, preferably engineering background
- Minimum 10 years experience in pharmaceutical, medical devices, biotechnology, or regulated industrial environment
- Proven expertise in sterile and/or aseptic production operations
- Strong operational experience in production, manufacturing, engineering, quality, or supply chain management
- Demonstrated success managing contract manufacturers or industrial partners
- Proficiency in technology transfers and process change management
- Fluent English and preferred proficiency in French; strong project management and risk analysis skills
What you'll be doing
- Establish governance structure with contract manufacturers defining responsibilities, procedures, and communication channels
- Coordinate production forecasts and delivery schedules to maintain supply continuity with internal and external stakeholders
- Anticipate and mitigate operational risks related to capacity, raw materials, lead times, and supplier performance
- Lead Virtual Operations Teams, business reviews, and steering committees; define and monitor quality, service, cost, and delivery performance indicators
- Oversee quality audits, inspections, deviation investigations, and corrective actions in collaboration with quality teams
