Role summary
Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting a biostatistics research and development intern for summer 2027 in Jacksonville, Florida. The intern will execute statistical analysis and simulation projects focused on eye health products, working alongside scientists and engineers across multiple functional disciplines.
What they're looking for
- Completed at least 1 year of graduate study in PhD program in Statistical Sciences, Biostatistics, or related field
- Experience with SAS and/or R programming; solid R knowledge desirable
- Knowledge of random effects models required; meta-analytic methodologies preferred
- Basic proficiency in data analysis methodologies and clinical trials concepts
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with guidance from internal team
- Permanent U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship required now or in future
- Minimum 3.0 GPA; available 40 hours per week; actively enrolled in academic program
What you'll be doing
- Execute project assignment involving eye health product development, enabling technology, or research operations
- Perform statistical research, clinical data analysis, and simulation studies as project deliverables
- Develop validated and reproducible R and/or SAS code implementing meta-analytic methods
- Evaluate range of meta-analytic methodologies to assess assumptions, strengths, and suitability for research questions
- Collaborate with technical disciplines and review project progress across functional groups
