Role summary
Stryker seeks a Principal Engineer to lead systems engineering for complex medical device products. This technical leader will define system architectures, drive cross-functional alignment, and ensure integration across hardware, software, connectivity, and partner technologies while championing a systems-thinking approach to innovation.

- Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Biomedical Engineering
- 8+ years of product development, systems engineering, or technical leadership experience
- Experience developing products in regulated industry environments
- Medical device product development background
- Knowledge of requirements management, verification, and system-level risk management
- Familiarity with FDA Design Controls, ISO 13485, or ISO 14971 standards
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional design teams

- Translate customer, clinical, and business needs into system-level requirements and drive alignment
- Lead requirements development, traceability, and verification planning throughout product lifecycle
- Conduct system-level decision making, architecture reviews, and risk assessments
- Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Engineering stakeholders on compliance and standards
