Role summary
Agilent seeks a Pre-Sales Application Engineer specializing in GCMS instrumentation to provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. The role involves analyzing customer requirements, delivering product demonstrations, and supporting account teams across North America from locations in Delaware or Illinois.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry or related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with GCMS instrumentation and applications
- Experience with MassHunter software highly desired
- Knowledge of triple quadrupole mass spectrometry techniques desired
- Strong presentation, communication, and project management skills
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel up to 60% within North America
- Experience in Environmental, Food, Forensic, or Life Science Research preferred
What you'll be doing
- Serve as technical subject matter expert for GCMS platforms including Single Quad, Triple Quad, and Q-ToF systems
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate Agilent solutions with competitive advantage positioning
- Conduct customer-facing product demonstrations and technical presentations at conferences and events
- Support sales teams through deal qualification, technical closure, and account planning activities
- Deliver customer training and provide application insights; influence product design based on customer feedback
