Role summary

Merck seeks a medical affairs director to build relationships with payers and health system decision-makers in oncology.   • MD, PhD, or PharmD degree required
  • 3+ years field-based medical affairs with payers/health systems OR 5+ years clinical oncology in health system

  • Deep knowledge of clinical medicine, healthcare systems, pharmacoeconomics, and value-based payment models
  • Strong interpersonal communication, networking, and collaborative skills with customer focus
  • Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical industry ethical guidelines
  • Demonstrated project leadership and ability to prioritize in dynamic environments

What you'll be doing

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key decision-makers in organized health systems
  • Develop strategic account plans with Account Executive teams and execute aligned medical activities
  • Assess market dynamics and evolving information needs to inform value proposition development
  • Coordinate with Regional Medical Scientific Director on clinical support for key accounts
  • Support scientific meetings and prepare post-meeting deliverables
