Altasciences seeks a Pathology Associate to process pathological specimens through gross examinations, necropsies, and tissue preparation in accordance with established protocols. What they're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred; Associate's degree or 6-12 months laboratory experience acceptable
  • Working knowledge of anatomic biology and aptitude for pathology and histology techniques
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) and basic to advanced computer skills including MS Office
  • Proficiency in basic bench chemistry and scientific data analysis requiring advanced math skills
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to participate in on-call policy and commit to continuous GLP training

What you'll be doing

  • Perform necropsies, organ weighing, tissue trimming, and bone marrow smear preparation per company SOPs
  • Operate Electronic Data Capture System, conduct quality control reviews, and maintain facility records and equipment logs
  • Progress to Lead Study Technician role including protocol review, pre-necropsy meeting attendance, and study setup completion
  • Maintain necropsy suites and laboratory areas; manage chemical stocks and waste in accordance with protocols
  • Order and stock supplies; assist with specialized necropsy and tissue procedures as required
Compensation$22.00 - $35.00 hourly
