Role summary
Bio-Techne seeks a Network Engineer for a 6-month contract role in Minneapolis to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure supporting life sciences operations. The position requires hybrid work (4 days on-site) and involves managing firewalls, switching, wireless systems, and network security across distributed locations.
What they're looking for

- 8+ years hands-on enterprise network engineering and operations experience
- Proficiency with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PAN-OS, Panorama) and security policies
- Experience administering Aruba switching and wireless infrastructure (ArubaOS-CX, ArubaOS)
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and network segmentation
- Expertise with monitoring tools (LogicMonitor, SNMP, NetFlow, packet capture)
- Experience troubleshooting VPN, VoIP systems, and distributed multi-site environments
What you'll be doing
- Design and deploy LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN solutions with routing and switching across sites
- Administer Palo Alto firewalls and Aruba infrastructure; optimize performance and security policies
- Implement 802.1X authentication, RADIUS services, and zero-trust network segmentation strategies
- Monitor network performance using LogicMonitor; troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Plan network upgrades and migrations; maintain documentation and support disaster recovery initiatives
Compensation$70/hour - $90/hour
