Role summary
IQVIA MedTech seeks a coding specialist to support patient access and reimbursement functions, responding to coding and coverage inquiries from healthcare providers, patients, and clients. The role combines technical knowledge of medical coding systems with customer service and case management responsibilities.
What they're looking for
- Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years healthcare experience, preferably in physician practice or facility
- Active coding certification such as CPC or CPC-A
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS coding systems
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and documentation capabilities
What you'll be doing
- Answer technical coding, coverage, and reimbursement questions from providers, billing staff, and sales representatives
- Intake cases and document research and correspondence in company CRM system
- Research and interpret payer coverage policies, medical necessity criteria, and reimbursement requirements
- Facilitate coverage access support including benefit investigations, pre-authorizations, and appeals
- Provide education about supported technologies to physicians, hospitals, patients, and stakeholders
