Role summary
Amgen seeks a Medical Science Liaison to engage respiratory and gastroenterology specialists across Southern California and Western/Central Arizona. The role involves scientific communication with clinical opinion leaders and health system decision-makers to support inflammatory disease management and product strategy.
What they're looking for
- Doctorate degree, or Master's degree with 3+ years medical affairs experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years medical affairs experience
- Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. preferred
- 1+ years of medical affairs experience preferred
- Respiratory and/or immunology therapeutic expertise
- Strong scientific communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to travel 60-70% for territory management and conference attendance
What you'll be doing
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific exchanges with respiratory and gastroenterology specialists, opinion leaders, and population health decision-makers
- Manage territory provider engagement and represent Amgen at national and regional medical conferences
- Support clinical investigations and liaise with non-sponsored research sites within the therapeutic area
- Provide field observations and scientific insights to internal stakeholders to inform company strategy
- Execute administrative responsibilities including CRM systems, compliance training, and expense reporting
