Role summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Manager of Clinical Operations for the West Region to lead and mentor a clinical operations team, overseeing staff development, performance management, and adherence to regulatory standards across multiple clinical trials. This remote position based on the West Coast involves team leadership, training delivery, quality assurance, and collaboration with senior management on strategic initiatives.

- 5+ years of relevant clinical operations or equivalent experience
- 1+ year of demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibility
- Advanced clinical trials monitoring skills, remote and on-site
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (ICH/GCP, FDA guidelines)
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate medical research data and use CTMS/monitoring systems
- Advanced written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
What you'll be doing
- Oversee, coach, and performance manage a clinical operations team; conduct appraisals and facilitate career development
- Deliver training on SOPs, WPDs, and regulatory requirements; identify training gaps and ensure compliance
- Conduct performance assessment visits (PAVs) to evaluate employee monitoring skills and project execution
- Manage quality assurance activities, alert management to quality issues, and facilitate internal and client audits
- Support resource allocation, project optimization, and participate in process improvement and business development initiatives
