Role summary
Amgen's AI Studio seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to design and deploy production-ready AI components within enterprise solutions. The role spans the full development lifecycle—from prototyping to deployment—with ownership of models, inference services, data pipelines, and generative AI systems. You'll collaborate across business units to transform technical challenges into scalable, measurable AI products.

- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or Bachelor's with 2+ years experience
- Production software and AI/ML system design with Python, SQL, APIs, and testing
- Statistics, modeling, and experimentation including EDA, feature engineering, and validation
- Generative AI, RAG, and agents experience with prompt management and structured outputs
- Strong hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL with software engineering best practices
- Expertise in classical ML, GenAI/RAG/agents, or MLOps platform engineering
What you'll be doing
- Design and implement maintainable production components including models, pipelines, and APIs
- Define component specifications, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements with stakeholders
- Build GenAI, NLP, and RAG components with structured outputs and retrieval systems
- Engineer data pipelines with validation, lineage tracking, and consistency checks
- Release and support components using cloud services, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response
