Role summary
Merck seeks a Senior Director and Group Leader for its Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics oncology team. This scientific leadership role directs clinical pharmacology strategy, manages a team of quantitative scientists, and applies model-informed drug development approaches across the oncology portfolio to support critical development decisions.
What they're looking for
- PhD in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacometrics, mathematics, statistics, or related field with ≥10 years pharma industry experience
- Master's, PharmD, or equivalent with ≥15 years pharma industry experience and demonstrated leadership progression
- Oncology therapeutic area knowledge and drug development expertise
- Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and oversee scientific staff
- Experience independently authoring and defending regulatory filings (NDA/MAA)
- Extensive quantitative pharmacology expertise and regulatory strategy knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication with cross-functional collaboration skills
What you'll be doing
- Lead quantitative pharmacology strategy across oncology programs to inform dose selection, trial design, and development decisions
- Develop and implement model-informed drug development strategies aligned with regulatory expectations and business priorities
- Lead, mentor, and manage team of QP2 scientists with oversight of performance, hiring, and talent development
- Serve as QP2 lead on assigned programs, collaborating with clinical, translational, and biostatistics teams
- Author and review regulatory documents including INDs, CSRs, and NDA/BLA submissions; represent company in regulatory interactions
