Role summary
Catalent seeks a Facilities Mechanic for its GMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Maryland. The role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical utility and manufacturing systems on a night shift schedule (6pm-6am, Thursday-Saturday plus alternate Wednesdays).
What they're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years facilities maintenance in biologics manufacturing, GMP, hospital, food, or chemicals
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in biopharmaceutical manufacturing
- Grade 3 Stationary Engineer's License within first year
- Experience in FDA-regulated cleanroom environments with full gowning procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and building automation systems
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
What you'll be doing
- Operate, maintain, and repair utility systems including HVAC, steam generators, chillers, water systems, boilers, and air compressors
- Troubleshoot and repair laboratory and manufacturing equipment such as fermenters, pumps, filtration skids, and freezers
- Complete and maintain equipment logbooks, maintenance records, and operational protocols
- Participate in facility expansion and validation projects
- Collaborate with manufacturing and laboratory staff to resolve equipment issues and recommend parts purchases
Compensation$33.65–$40.86 per hour plus bonus
