Role summary
Merck seeks an Executive Director to lead clinical research and development for atherosclerosis therapeutics. The role encompasses late-stage clinical trial oversight, regulatory strategy, cross-functional team management, and scientific leadership across Phase 2 through Phase V development programs.

- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree
- Minimum 3 years clinical medicine experience

- Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology, Endocrinology, or Nephrology preferred
What you'll be doing
- Plan and direct clinical research activities for atherosclerosis medicines from Phase 2 through Phase V
- Develop clinical development strategies incorporating scientific advances, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape
- Lead cross-functional product development teams overseeing strategy execution and program oversight
- Analyze clinical trial findings and prepare regulatory submissions and publications
- Manage Directors and Senior Directors responsible for atherosclerosis clinical development projects
