Role summary
Director of Operations leading the Integrated Process Team for API manufacturing at a new small molecule pharmaceutical facility in Virginia. Responsible for site strategy, operational ramp-up, compliance, and team leadership while establishing the future operating model for this agile manufacturing site.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or related technical discipline
- 10+ years experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments
- Leadership experience in manufacturing, technical operations, quality, engineering, or production planning
- Direct and indirect team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, quality systems, regulatory readiness, and safety practices
- Demonstrated experience with operational planning, project leadership, or site ramp-up activities

- Lead strategic and tactical planning aligned with site and company priorities
- Develop future-state operating model and support site start-up, ramp-up, and operational readiness
- Ensure safe, compliant, and reliable API operations meeting production and supply objectives
- Lead team of managers and contributors to build high-performing organization with strong quality and safety culture
- Support budget planning, financial stewardship, and continuous improvement initiatives across the IPT
