Role summary
Danaher seeks a Director of Labor & Employee Relations to lead a team of ER professionals across the Life Sciences Platform in Europe. This role delivers strategic direction and operational oversight of employee relations case management, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation while supporting business leaders.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Employment Relations, Law, or related field
- 15+ years of employee relations, labor relations, HR business partnering, or employment law experience
- 3+ years of people leadership experience managing HR or Employee Relations professionals
- Experience supporting global or multi-country workforce operations
- Demonstrated expertise managing complex, sensitive employee relations investigations and risk matters
- Working knowledge of employment law and ER practices across European jurisdictions
- Experience with employee representative bodies, works councils, or labor unions
What you'll be doing
- Lead, develop, and manage Employee Relations professionals while ensuring consistent case management standards and service quality
- Serve as escalation point for complex, high-risk employee relations matters and guide resolution strategies
- Partner with business leaders and HR stakeholders to deliver proactive ER support and mitigate organizational risk
- Develop and standardize employee relations policies, procedures, toolkits, and governance practices across the enterprise
- Oversee case reporting, trend analysis, and root-cause identification to drive data-informed improvements
