Role summary

Insmed seeks a Director of Bioprocess Development to lead the establishment and execution of upstream and downstream bioprocess capabilities for a biologics research organization. Deep expertise in both upstream and downstream bioprocess development
Hands-on experience with microbial expression systems (E. coli) and mammalian expression systems
Track record of successful tech transfer to technical operations groups and/or CDMOs
Proven ability to build and lead teams in fast-paced, research-driven environments
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

What you'll be doing

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing research bioprocess development team
Design and oversee buildout of new state-of-the-art research laboratories and define equipment strategy
Provide technical expertise in protein expression, cell culture development, and purification processes
Contribute directly to experimental design, troubleshooting, and data interpretation on critical programs
Partner with cross-functional teams to align bioprocess strategies with program timelines and CMC expectations
