Role summary
Amgen seeks a Cardiovascular Key Account Manager for the Baton Rouge territory to develop strategic relationships with healthcare systems and drive utilization of cardiovascular products. The role involves account planning, stakeholder engagement across complex organizations, and coordination with internal teams to support portfolio performance.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree with 6+ years sales/account management experience, or Master's with 4+ years, or Doctorate with 2+ years
- 3+ years account management and/or public payor experience strongly preferred
- Cardiology experience including dyslipidemia, heart failure, and acute coronary syndromes
- Knowledge of hospital committee structures, P&T processes, and hospital reimbursement systems
- Understanding of Medicare, CMS policies, and payor systems
- Advanced degree (MPH, MBA, PharmD) and 7+ years healthcare sales experience preferred
- District management experience and familiarity with community cardiology practice trends
What you'll be doing
- Assess business environment and develop comprehensive account plans for assigned cardiovascular accounts aligned to business unit strategy
- Lead implementation initiatives ensuring institutional availability across inpatient and ambulatory care settings
- Engage opinion leaders including cardiologists, lipidologists, pharmacy directors, and P&T committee members as strategic partners
- Coordinate with field teams and access specialists to drive appropriate utilization and access for cardiovascular products
- Monitor account performance, market dynamics, and provide field intelligence to brand and market access teams
