Role summary

Merit Medical seeks a Business Development Manager for its Oncology division in the Southwest region to drive adoption of capital medical devices including SCOUT MD and OneMark. This field-based, regional overlay role partners with sales teams to identify, qualify, and close complex hospital and health system opportunities while supporting executive stakeholder engagement and business case development.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, life sciences, healthcare, or related field
3-5 years of medical device, healthcare technology, or capital equipment sales experience
Demonstrated success selling complex products into hospitals and health systems
Experience navigating hospital capital approval processes and decision-making structures
Strong presentation, negotiation, and business case development skills
Executive presence with ability to influence without direct authority
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and ability to travel extensively

What you'll be doing

Identify, qualify, and advance capital opportunities through full sales cycle including evaluation, business case development, and negotiation
Develop and execute regional business development strategies partnering with Regional Vice Presidents and sales teams
Navigate hospital and health system capital approval pathways including committees and executive decision-makers
Build financial justifications translating clinical, operational, and economic value into customer-facing business cases
Coordinate product evaluations and implementation planning across cross-functional partners including Account Executives and Clinical Application Specialists
