Role summary

AstraZeneca seeks an Associate Principal Automation SME in Dublin to lead operational technology design and integration for autonomous manufacturing systems. What they're looking for

Domain expertise in PLC/SCADA, DCS, or industrial control systems across full lifecycle
Experience delivering OT Edge solutions connecting control systems with manufacturing platforms
Knowledge of OPC UA, MQTT, event-driven integration, asset models, and data provenance
Working knowledge of secure OT architectures including network segmentation and high availability
Experience managing technical delivery across complex, multi-vendor projects
GMP computerised systems validation and data integrity working knowledge
Fluent English and relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

What you'll be doing

Lead automation and OT design for projects, ensuring compliance with engineering, cybersecurity and GMP requirements
Define OT scope and architecture from concept through detailed design and system selection
Guide lifecycle delivery including URS development, design qualification, FAT/SAT, commissioning and handover
Develop secure, scalable solutions connecting automation systems and equipment to enterprise platforms
Manage supplier and partner scopes, driving technical compliance and performance
