Role summary
IQVIA seeks an Associate Director of Biostatistics to lead a team of biostatistical staff across multiple European locations. The role combines team management with advanced statistical consulting, regulatory expertise, and strategic involvement in observational database studies and real-world evidence initiatives.
What they're looking for
- Master's in Biostatistics or related field with 7–10 years relevant experience, including 2 years managing staff; or Ph.D. with 5 years experience and 2 years managing staff
- Proficiency in R or SAS programming languages
- Expert knowledge of statistical methods for observational database studies
- In-depth understanding of GCP and ICH regulatory guidelines
- Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve complex problems, and build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
What you'll be doing
- Manage and mentor biostatistics staff, overseeing workload allocation, performance evaluation, and professional development
- Deliver high-quality statistical analyses and ensure scientific rigor in observational database study methodologies
- Provide advanced technical expertise to internal teams and external clients, including regulatory agency representation
- Support Director with strategic planning, resource allocation, proposal development, and budget management
- Identify and mitigate project risks, serve as escalation point for team leads, and drive process improvements
