Role summary

IQVIA seeks an AI/ML engineer to develop agentic AI capabilities for the Clinical Outcomes Assessments accelerator program. The role focuses on building retrieval-augmented generation systems, prompt engineering, and model evaluation to transform COA knowledge into reliable AI-enabled workflows supporting evidence-backed clinical research.

What they're looking for

Degree in computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, or related technical field
Production experience building AI, NLP, LLM-powered, or machine learning applications
Practical experience with retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering
Strong Python skills and familiarity with modern AI/ML frameworks, APIs, and deployment workflows
Experience working with unstructured scientific, clinical, regulatory, or healthcare data
Understanding of AI output quality risks including hallucination and weak source grounding
Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across teams

What you'll be doing

Design and optimize AI workflows for COA strategy generation, evidence synthesis, and expert review
Implement retrieval pipelines across structured and unstructured sources with semantic search and citation support
Develop mechanisms to distinguish between strong evidence, weak precedent, and areas requiring expert judgment
Create and maintain model evaluation frameworks assessing factuality, citation accuracy, and hallucination risk
Partner with COA scientists, product managers, and engineers to ensure scientific credibility and explainability
