Role summary
Corporate Counsel position supporting AbbVie's Market Access organization with focus on payor and trade strategies. Provides legal guidance on Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, FDA regulations, competition law, and pricing matters. Reports to Senior Associate General Counsel.
What they're looking for
- Law degree from ABA-accredited law school; active state bar membership or ability to obtain licensure
- Minimum 8+ years relevant legal experience; pharmaceutical experience preferred
- Knowledge of commercial payor and trade contracting and regulatory landscape
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage high-visibility projects independently
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability in complex, dynamic environments and matrixed organizations
What you'll be doing
- Serve as legal counsel to Market Access function on regulatory, compliance, and contracting strategy issues
- Advise senior management on Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and competition law matters
- Provide strategic counsel on product pricing and market access decisions
- Prepare, review, and negotiate government, payor, and trade agreements
- Maintain deep knowledge of AbbVie business operations and evolving regulatory landscape
