Role summary
A six-month co-op program in sterile pharmaceutical product development within the Research Division. Participants will engage in formulation research for diverse drug modalities while collaborating with experienced scientists and gaining exposure to clinical drug development processes.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled undergraduate (sophomore, junior, senior) or graduate student in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Engineering, or related field
- Completion of minimum two years toward bachelor's degree by June 2027
- Available to work full-time for four to six months
- Basic laboratory skills and research experience (electronic notebooks, HPLC, spectroscopy, analytical techniques)
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
- Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to work in multi-functional environment
What you'll be doing
- Apply physical and chemical characterization techniques to assess physicochemical properties of small molecules, proteins, peptides, and formulations
- Use modeling tools to evaluate formulation stability and performance predictions
- Develop and execute small-scale in vitro screening systems for formulation performance assessment
- Plan and execute research on design, development, and characterization of novel drug delivery approaches
- Present research results in oral and written formats to departmental teams
