Role summary
Merck's Global Support Division seeks an intern for a 10-12 week assignment supporting environmental, health, and safety compliance programs at its South San Francisco site. The role involves providing EHS technical assistance and compliance support across occupational safety, industrial hygiene, biosafety, and environmental programs.

- Currently pursuing bachelor's or master's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, or related technical field
- Completed at least 2 years of college coursework
- Available to work full-time for 10-12 weeks
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient computer skills and ability to implement verbal and written direction
- Prior internship or work experience in EHS or chemical manufacturing (preferred)
What you'll be doing
- Provide environmental, health, and safety compliance support to site business partners
- Support occupational safety, industrial hygiene, biosafety, and air/water/waste environmental programs
- Identify process inefficiencies and develop practical solutions
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to team members
