Role summary
A 12-week summer internship in pharmaceutical operations at Merck's New Jersey and Pennsylvania facilities. Interns will work on formulation development, manufacturing, and clinical supply chain projects within a collaborative team environment.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering
- Currently enrolled graduate student pursuing Master's or PhD in related fields
- Completed at least two years of studies toward bachelor's degree by June 2027
- Available for full-time work up to 12 weeks between May and August 2027
- GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
- Basic laboratory skills including HPLC, spectroscopy, and electronic notebook recording preferred
- Familiarity with analytical tools such as MATLAB, Python, or Aspen preferred
What you'll be doing
- Support process engineering projects on oral solid dosage formulation or injectable clinical supply manufacturing
- Contribute to design engineering work on process equipment and utility systems
- Participate in departmental and cross-functional project team meetings
- Present research findings in oral and written formats
