Role summary
A 10-12 week summer 2027 internship with Merck's Global Security Group in Rahway, NJ, supporting investigations and security initiatives across North America. Interns will assist with workplace violence matters, fraud investigations, merger and acquisition security coordination, and work with enterprise security systems.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled in accredited college or university with completed two years of studies
- Preferred concentration in data analytics, criminology, security, behavioral sciences, psychology, sociology, or business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with sound analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated teamwork, flexibility, and ability to work collaboratively in dynamic environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
- Full-time availability for 10-12 week commitment beginning Summer 2027
What you'll be doing
- Monitor and support ongoing investigations into escalated matters including fraud, financial integrity, and workplace violence
- Conduct research on proposed mergers and acquisitions to support security integration efforts
- Learn and utilize enterprise security tools including case management, badge tracking, and surveillance systems
- Liaise with Legal, Human Resources, Site Security, and Health Services stakeholders
- Assist in developing training and education programs for various organizational audiences
