Role summary

This six-month co-op position in the Infectious Diseases and Vaccines research group offers hands-on laboratory experience developing medicines and vaccines for viral and bacterial diseases. Participants will apply molecular biology, microbiology, and immunological techniques alongside experienced scientists using innovative technologies.

What they're looking for

Currently pursuing bachelor's degree in biology or related major
Proficiency in laboratory techniques: cell culture, transfection, bacterial handling, ELISAs, PCR, protein analysis, or DNA/RNA manipulation
Competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Available to work in-person full-time for up to six months beginning June 2027
Background and interest in virology, microbiology, biochemistry, or immunology
Experience with immunological techniques (ELISPOT, flow cytometry, immunostaining) or virology/bacterial genetics preferred
Experience with molecular biology software (DNASTAR) or graphing software (GraphPad Prism) preferred

What you'll be doing

Collaborate with scientists on research projects within infectious diseases and vaccines division
Execute laboratory experiments using molecular biology and immunological techniques
Contribute to development of medicines and vaccines for viral and bacterial disease treatment or prevention
Support ongoing research initiatives applying cutting-edge technologies
