Role summary
This 10-12 week internship provides support for environmental, health, and safety compliance and technical initiatives across Merck's manufacturing sites. The intern will assist local business partners with occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental program compliance.
What they're looking for
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, or related technical field
- Completed at least two years of college coursework
- Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with computer applications
- Prior internship or work experience in EHS or chemical manufacturing preferred
What you'll be doing
- Provide compliance support for occupational safety, high-risk work, and industrial hygiene programs
- Support environmental programs related to air, water, and waste management
- Assist with technical compliance documentation and site requirements
- Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements to business partners
