Role summary
Six-month manufacturing co-op in Merck's Elkton, Virginia facility supporting biopharmaceutical and vaccine production. Participants will engage in process engineering, technical investigations, and continuous improvement projects within a multidisciplinary team environment.

- Excellent academic record and demonstrated superior technical competency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated leadership through direct roles or influence
- Robust problem-solving skills with proactive approach and ability to investigate issues in field
- Ability to examine issues from diverse perspectives including safety, compliance, maintenance, and process angles
What you'll be doing
- Provide on-floor support for operational and technical issues; collaborate on critical manufacturing projects
- Support vaccine, biologic, and sterile manufacturing processes as cross-functional team member
- Conduct technical investigations and analyses; recommend corrective and preventative actions
- Write, review, and improve procedures for equipment and process operations
- Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to improve process performance, yield, cost, and cycle times
