Role summary
Merck is recruiting interns for a 12-week summer program within their Drug/Device Combination Products division. Participants will work on projects involving inhaler and delivery device development, gaining exposure to pharmaceutical product development processes across multiple functional areas.
What they're looking for
- Currently enrolled undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Chemistry
- Completed at least two years toward bachelor's degree by June 2027
- Available for full-time 12-week internship beginning June 2027
- GPA 3.0 or higher preferred
- Basic laboratory skills and research experience including safe practices and data handling
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and geometric tolerancing preferred
What you'll be doing
- Participate in combination product design and assembly process development activities
- Develop and validate mechanical test methods and characterization methodologies
- Contribute to human factors engineering, modeling, simulation, and documentation efforts
- Present research results in oral and written formats to team members
- Collaborate cross-functionally with analytical, manufacturing, packaging, and clinical teams
